Hello!
This week's QOTW was inspired by this topic (http://forums.play-earthrise.com/index.php?topic=2147.0) on PVP Quests. Enjoy!

This week we dabble in PvP once again, to see if there's a place for Quests that pair characters versus characters. Bwen's question and suggestions serve as a great point that Earthrise development has already covered. Few weeks ago we already explained our plans for the Bounty Hunting system - where players who get killed can set up Bounties on the head of their killer, and Bounty Hunters receive "carte blanche" to kill those who have a reward put on their head. Bounty Hunters will be encouraged to do their hard work for many rewards - non-penalized PvP in secure areas is one of them but also they will unlock rewards as they achieve goals - both permanent and temporary. The best Bounty Hunters will even get their services advertised across the city of Sal Vitas or the underground base of Noir and gain them the recognition and respect of all those vengeance they carry out. We are also working on a system that will allow Guilds to announce a war to another Guild and have small benefits in a global war that takes over not only the contested territories but the whole island of Enterra. Finally, almost every quest in Earthrise will have effect on your Contribution score, a measure of your affiliation between Continoma and Noir. As you start to betray your brethren, you will be cast into treason and you could change your faction, and some quests will even send you out as an undercover agent, providing you with temporary change of faction just that you could carry out a secret mission in the enemy lines. Once completed, your initial faction affiliation will be restored along with a lucrative reward.

Please feel free to discuss, below.

Sweet, I hope no one minds if I'm off head hunting for spare change now and then. :D

I'm getting quite anxious for beta, F&F is supposed to start soon, selective closed beta after, then open beta I'm assuming around march.
I hope their CB apps aren't based mainly on forums activity as I don't
have a lot of time to go through the forums which were already well established by the time I found out about ER.

I've beta'd about 9 mmo's like WAR and EVE, I hope I can play during CB lol.

Hmmm, I suppose I'll be long gone by the time beta rolls around...

Waaaaaaaaah... :(

The PVP quests sound good. It sounds like the bounty system is going to be pretty exciting. Although I can already hear the QQ'ers lament rising above the tide of bounties and skilled players.

Although I can already hear the QQ'ers lament rising above the tide of bounties and skilled players. Why the QQs, the bounty system is there for all to use to avenge themselves when they otherwise could not. You wouldn't be the target of a bounty in this system if you didn't manage to kill another player.

The Mythical Undersea Continent of QQ is the natural habitat of 12-13 year olds. A place where the children believe they should have the best stuff, should never be killed (let alone hunted), and all their parents/Aunts/Uncles/Former Roommates have been killed by Continoman soldiers.

I say we invade, blast them to smithereens, and send them running to their dead mamas.

As long as the BHing is a vicious circle, meaning if you're killed by a BH you get a little tag just like if anyone had killed you, then I'm all for it.

That would be hilarious. All those RP'er bounty hunters hunting each other 24/7.

On a side note, so you aren't one of those military folk that get reasonable amounts of daily internet access? Ive been in guilds with folks active in the military, they would log on just like everyone else, its just that their day job was a bit extreme.

That's a good question but being a combat MOS I've never had more than a few minutes every few days to get on the internet. Maybe if I was an MRE Inspector or something but I'll probably be in the field 90% of the time.

So uhh, who's going to lead the 47th in ER?
This to me (still new to the 47th) looks to have "disaster"
written all over it in big friendly yellow letters. (friendly to
trick people into thinking it's safe before it turns into a giant
bee and crushes all of your flowers making you a sad sad person)
